INTRODUCTION

This December, we are planning to organize a fundraising event to raise funds for nature conservation. This year is our second year and we are planning to make this our signature annual fundraising event. This two-day fundraising event has 2 parts: 10 December 2022 will be our Hikeathon while 11 December will be our Treasure Hunt. Both events will take place in the beautiful hills and surroundings of our KFBG site. While enjoying your time outdoors, we hope you will be able to learn and understand the harmonious relationship between us and nature through their engagement.

Hikeathon

On 10 December 2022 (Saturday), our Hikeathon day, you can challenge yourself by joining our 8 km Classic Route or enjoying leisure walk with your friends and family by joining our 4 km Leisure Route. You will pass by the most scenic parts of KFBG, including the iconic Kwun Yum Shan and Kadoorie Brothers’ Memorial Pavilion, the 4 Pillars from the old Central Post Office, Signpost Lookout, and the Rainbow Pavilion. Along the way, participants can know more about Hong Kong’s fauna and flora, and enjoy stunning views of the Kam Tin Valley and Tai Po countryside.

Treasure Hunt

On 11 December 2022 (Sunday), KFBG will turn into a Treasure Hunt playground. You can participate as an individual, or form a family or company team (2 to 4 persons). There are 25 checkpoints for your discovery. You can choose to visit as few or many of the checkpoints as you wish. Each one will inspire and delight you with an intriguing activity.

You can choose either event or sign up for both!

Green Christmas Bazaar

Opening to the general public, our Green Christmas Bazaar awaits you on both days. Besides shopping for natural produces for your green Christmas, you can also sign up for fun-filled activities to experience and connect with nature. Enjoy a day immersing in nature and help raise funds for nature conservation.

Souvenirs and prizes

You will receive a souvenir from Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden as a reminder that we are all ambassadors for harmonizing with our relationship with the environment.

In addition, attractive prizes await top fundraisers, the best pictures taken at Kwun Yum Shan and Kadoorie Brothers’ Memorial Pavilion and posted on our Facebook, and top 3 participants with highest scores of the Treasure Hunt.

Purposes of donations

All funds raised through this annual fundraising event will go towards KFBG’s nature-based programmes for wildlife conservation, holistic education, and sustainable living, in our mission towards harmonizing our relationship with the environment.
